Q: raid no longer shows up in the "about this mac" storage.

After upgrading to Sierra my softraid drive does not show up in the about this mac storage section. I have asked soft raid and their response is that it is an apple problem

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), macOS Sierra (10.12), null

If you haven't already, unplug the softraid drive and shutdown your Mac. While the Mac is off plug in the softraid drive. Then start your Mac up again. See if it shows up in Disk Utility.

Yeah that was the first thing I tried but no luck. It shows up in disk utility and it shows up in system report and is working fine, it does not show up in ABOUT THIS MAC - Storage.
