I am charging for the first time. How long should it take? Can I check battery percentage while charging?

I am charging my Apple Watch 1 for the first time. It has been over 2 hours and it shows the green lightning bolt when I touch the face. How long should it take to charge? Is there a way to check the battery level while charging? How do I know when it is fully charged?

You can check the battery level on the Apple Watch directly from the iPhone lock screen by swiping down from the top of the screen. This will likely bring up your Notifications. Swipe from left to right to bring up the widgets screen (News, Weather, etc.) I'm not sure if the Batteries widget was there as a default, but it will show the current level of the iPhone and paired Apple Watch batteries. Even if the Apple Watch is on the charger. You may need to add the Batteries widget if it's not there.
