Q: Problem with Media importing to disk instead of library

I had this problem awhile ago and have ran into it again.  I basically have a project i am working on that all the media is imported into the library.  All media is shot from gopro 4, and imported at the same time with the same options.  I do some editing and then realize id like to delete the copy of the original imported media on my disk, since its already in the bundle file.  But when I delete the original imported media, only some of the files lose link.  Its like some of it is linked to the drive and others are to the bundle file. And when I try to relink the lost media to the media in the bundle file, it gives me an error saying incompatible file type.

Is there any way to avoid this in the future?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

It seems to you already had the clips in your drive, not imported from the camera directly, is that right?

Do you have your preferences set to "leave in place" or not?

When in doubt, select the clip in question in the browser, and choose "Reveal in Finder". Does it take you inside the library bundle or to another folder?
