How to do ⌑ pillow sign on Mac Keyboard ?

Hello everyone!

I need your help today.
I'm currently training to be a travel agent.

On the booking software we need to use a special sign called "pillow" or square lozenge.

It's this one ->

Does someone know how to do this special character on a macbook pro keyboard ?

I spent my afternoon trying to find how on internet but couldn't find anything...

Here is some expansion on @Tom Gewecke's response above. This is the way I would get this symbol ready to type:


  • If you have not already, go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources and check "Show input menu in nenu bar" near the bottom.
  • Click that keyboard symbol in the Menu Bar and choose "Show Emoji & Symbols" User uploaded file
  • Per Tom's advice, type "2311' in the search bar. That will yield your symbol, which you can then double click to place into your document.

What is not working exactly? You need to use two or more characters (e.g. loz) for the Replace side and may need to make a space after it when you type the shortcut.

An alternative would be to switch to the Unicode Hex keyboard layout, where you can make it by holding down the option key and typing 2311.
