icloud for homekit must be enabled when signed into an iCloud account

I run homekit on my 6s+

I don't want to enable it on my 5s cause (in my case) it has been known to corrupt my HomeKit unique "Home" on my 6s+, so I turned it off in my iCloud settings

Now, since I've upgraded both my phones to iOS10, I get this message on my 5s: "icloud for homekit must be enabled when signed into an iCloud account" about once a day.

Any idea how to turn that message off.

Please don't tell me to turn Homekit on on my 5s 😀
