Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important being able to use your new iPhone 7 is to you! The good news is the following steps will be helpful in resolving your issue of your iPhone unexpectedly being unresponsive and get it working properly again!
1. Restart your device as the shut down and start up process is important to keep the iOS software running properly:
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
2. If you notice this is happening with a certain app, you can try force closing the app or even reinstalling the app, as this article suggests:
If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open
3. I would also make sure your iPhone software is up to date, as updates can contain stability fixes for situations like yours. Updating is also important as they contain important security updates as well to keep your iPhone safe!
Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Cheers!
