Q: Login with apple watch doesn't work

Ive tried setting up login with apple watch on my macbook pro(2013) and imac(2013). But it wont work.

Everything is as it should be.

- All devices are updated to latest versions.

- Two-Factor Authentication is on

- Apple watch is on my wrist and has a passcode

- Turned on "Allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac"

- All devices are on the same network

- Bluetooth is on on all devices

But still it wont work, it still just asks for my password.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important being able to use the new Auto Unlock is to you! Based on what you stated, it seems you have covered a lot of the requirements, which is great and really helps! I would check you have the correct devices to support Auto Unlock per this article:

System requirements for Continuity on Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch

Then make sure to follow the steps in this article:

Automatically unlock your Mac with your Apple Watch

You can also figure out if unexpected behavior is related to a user file or setting by trying to reproduce the issue from another user account. This process includes creating a new user account, logging in to it, and testing for the issue.

Hi and thank you for the reply.

I have gotten it to work a few times now(something like 2-3 times out of 10).
So lets just file this under growing pains

It doesn't work for me...At all! Not one time have I been able to login with my Apple Watch...All the above are in order, brand new iMac, everything has been updated, all on the same wifi, same apple ID....Frustrating...

I had the same issue. What it worked for me was logging out from iCloud (system preferences - iCloud - sign out) and logging in again. Hope this help.
