Q: airport express internet drops in and out

Hi,

I have a Airport express (Model A1392), it has been working fine for 12-18 months. I had my Optus TV box connected to it via ethernet. Recently my Optus TV box hasn't been able to connect to internet, I thought it was the Optus TV box. But I ordered a new Box, and it has the same problem. I looked at my Airport express on the Airport APP, and you can see my Airport express dropping in and out of connection.

I have reset the Airport, reconfigured it, and I still have the same problem.

Any suggestions on what to do, or should I take into an Apple store? Is there anything they can do instore?

Cheers

Daniel

Is your AirPort Express the only router in your current network configuration? That is, is it connected directly (by Ethernet) to your Internet modem? What is the make & model of this modem?

My airport express is used as a extender to my network wirelessly.

I have an Optus modem "sagemcom F@st 3864OP ADSL"

they are 3 room away from each other. Has been working fine for 18 months.

THen suddenly decided to atart start dropping the connection.

It may be possible that some form of Wi-Fi interference is now in the vicinity that wasn't there before that is preventing the Express from getting a strong signal from the Sagemcom gateway.

This is common in areas of high Wi-Fi density. If that is not the case, it may be at least two other things: 1) The placement of the Express (or Sagemcom) may not be ideal. Simply moving one or the other may resolve this, or 2) The Express is failing.

Curious... do you have anything other devices that connect through your Airport Extreme, like an iPhone, iPad, laptop...?  And if yes, have you recently upgraded to iOS 10.x?

We're having similar problems, trying to diagnose if it's connected to the iOS update.

    Cheers.
