touchscreen not responding in iOS 10

Hi All,

I am using iPhone 6 and recently upgraded to iOS 10.

I have started getting strange behaviour on my iPhone the day after I upgraded to iOS 10.

My iPhone touchscreen doesn't respond properly. Sometimes I need to wait for a minute for a touch to respond and sometimes it doesn't respond at all. Sometimes, I need to forcefully power off my phone.

I never had any single problem with my iPhone 6 before and I feel that it happened only after I upgraded to iOS 10.

I have already tried resetting the phone and also the factory resetting but no improvement.

Any solution please.

Thanks.

Ratna

Suspect Apple's Continuity is at fault in my case...

Both my iPad and my iPhone go unresponsive for seconds to over a minute at a time, completely "ignoring" any input. The screen just locks up. When this happens I am always in a text field ready to type. The text field can be in the SpringBoard / Spotlight search, it can be in iMessage's texting entry, it can be in Safari's URL entry.

Then after 10 to 90 seconds it inexplicably wakes up and everything that I did while it was frozen takes action. It is like it is having an epileptic seizure, every digital muscle locked tight. I suspect it is a major flaw in Apple's Continuity system (includes universal clipboard and handoff)

This happens every time I move from the Mac to the iPad and get into a text field. That suggests that Universal Clipboard is broken ... as it is, in theory, handing off my clipboard. Note that this feature used to work, is turned on, and no longer does work as no text transfers (or anything else) in the clipboard. Universal Clipboard per Apple: http://apple.co/2nmgkP8

I have the same problem. The Phone is frozen on the lockscreen ( No time or date showing, just the wallpaper ). I tried to hard reset it and it's not working. The screenshot works and " hey siri works " but no other feature works. When i press the home button, it shows the siri menu for just a second and then goes back to the wallpaper with no time or anything on it. ( I'm using an iPhone 7.)

Hi,

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I have also tried by upgrading to iOS 10.0.2 but the problem still persists. I will try to downgrade to iOS 9 by the given procedures. Let me see if the problem resolves.

I have contacted Apple Care but unfortunately they do not agree that my phone problem is due to iOS 10. However, I strongly feel that the problem of my phone started only after I have upgraded to iOS 10. I think Apple may look for a solution after receiving complains from many users.

Hi Ratna and all, I had the same problem after updating my iPhone 6 to 10.1 and tried everything, even downgrading to 10.0.1 and complete new installs. It drove me crazy, because the problem returned every time after a short while and the iPhone was almost unusable.

In the end, the solution was very simple: turning Siri suggestions of.

Give it a try: Settings > General > Spotlight Search > Siri Suggestions: OFF
