Text labels missing from Mail toolbar - El Capitan
So yet another improvement from Apple.... How do I bring back the text labels next to the icons? - they are missing in Relpy & Forward.

Nah - the only menu options visible after you click FORWARD or REPLY are "hide toolbar" / "customise toolbar".
Sorry, yes I see the same.
It appears that you have the option in the main viewer window and also a message window.
But as soon as you open the Reply/Forward window, the option is gone.
Same occurs in macOS Sierra.
Like I said... another Apple improvement! Guess if it's missing in 10.12 then it ain't coming back.
Dead easy to use now - not!
Solution - use another program for email.
Really?... the icons for Reply & Reply All are pretty clear?
When you have aging eyesight or are not a frequent user and need a reminder of what various functions are?!
- Omitting the text labels really creates so much more real estate for the message? - nah, sorry.
- Moving the cursor around the screen to hover over icons is less labour intensive? - nah, sorry!
The reply and reply all buttons CAN have the text below them, so what's the fuss?
Anyway, why move around the screen?
FWIW, I don't think I ever clicked on the reply button EVER in my life.
Command-R (R is for reply), or Command-Shift-R and my hands never leave the keyboard, where they belong; so I just start typing the reply.
Not sure you read the post correctly.
As per confirmation by ACTIONMARKER..."it appears that you have the option in the main viewer window and also a message window. But as soon as you open the Reply/Forward window, the option is gone. Same occurs in macOS Sierra."
In short... customise toolbar options are different dependant on the type of message.
Which to me, speaks as inconsistency, when it was there in a previous OS release has now disappeared, but is still there in some views.
Glad to know that you are happy, have solutions and thankyou for the tip.

I read correctly. I agree that it is inconsistent and should be fixed.
You should use feedback. There will probably be no reply, but they do listen.
And if you are replying already, what is the point of a reply or reply to all button?
