"Hey Siri" not working on iPhone 7 Plus

Hi guys!

I just bought a iPhone 7 Plus, als it's al up and running except for one little thing...
"Hey Siri" isn't working like it should.

"Hey Siri" is enabled in settings, and is working when the screen is activated (locked or unlocked), but not when the screen isn't activated.

On the iPhone 6s Plus of a friend of mine, "Hey Siri" is working just fine when the screen isn't activated and the phone is locked.
We checked the settings of "Hey Siri", and they are all the same.

Does anyone experience the same 'problem'?

(I spoke to Apple Support via Twitter, and they told me to completely restore my brand new iPhone via iTunes. But that didn't work either.)

Both phones, iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 6s Plus are running the latest iOS, iOS 10.0.2 (released yesterday evening)

Yep. Same iPhone 7 here. Siri has never worked. The dictation works (badly), but 'Hey Siri'.. never. Store hardware tested and all fine. Said I'd need to send it off, but couldn't be bothered with the hassle. I note that there's been a bug fix on the latest iOS update which specifically states that it solves a known problem with iPhone 7 and 7plus devices where Siri isn't working. I did the update. I went into the menu to set up hey siri again, and the first time it actually recognised my voice and said all was successful. I then tried to say 'Hey Siri'... and guess what... nothing. I then turned hey siri off/on again and went through setting up and that time it didn't recognise me at all for the setup, i.e. whatever bug fix they think they've solved.. has not solved the problem. I note that there are blogs where other people have the same issue. Have given up. All else on the phone is ace. Just a shame something soooooo expensive fails to work 100%... ho hum

No, that shouldn't be the case with the iPhone 6s (Plus) or the iPhone 7 (Plus).

From the link you posted:

"To ask questions without pressing the Home button, plug your device into power and turn on "Hey Siri." With iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, and iPad Pro (9.7-inch) you can use this feature without plugging into power."

So, the saga continues over a year since I bought it. A few weeks ago there was an iOS update and Siri started working (quiet "yeah!"). Now.... stopped working again for no reason. Never used it anyway. Voice recognition dire. Even putting in phonetic names rarely works. My other half is called Tamara. Try that one! No contacts called tomorrow apparently. Even using Tam as phonetic name. Nope. Recognised it as something rude and said "that isn't very nice Martin" Lol. I give up. No Siri and voice recognition about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
