My El Capitan Mac phpinfo.php lists three PDO drivers:

I updated another mac to Sierra and the phpinfo.php reports just two: mysql and sqlite.
Therefore I always get a message when trying to use the same software that works under El Capitan.
Error is: "Connection failed: could not find driver"
Why has this driver been eliminated from Sierra? Is there a workaround?
