iPhone 7 Camera App does not work

Received my new iPhone 7 today. Restored from backup, updated to latest iOS software, Set it up and started checking my apps. Went to test the Apple Camera app and it cycles through a blurry image to focused image. The app won't take a picture. It is stuck in a loop. Turn it around to take a selfie with the other lens and it is just a very dark, blurry image. I opened my other Camera apps like Camera Awesome, and they all work fine. I think there is a bug in the built-in app. Any insight?

THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. It is a faulty rear camera sensor. I bet this will be a massive recall. You better hope it happens to you while it is still under warranty. Or get Apple Care + while you are eligible. Ever since we lost Steve, everything gets worse and worse.

i have same issue, and was disappointed, how apple made such faulty devices? me using apple from many years, but may be this one, iphone 7 will be my last apple device, then i'll shift to android, i am not more interested to spend money to buy apple's expensive faulty devices.

nothing new in ios 10.3 regarding camera issues, i updated my iphone 7 to ios 10.3, but still both cameras, and flash are not working, very much disappointed, now i have to said... once there was a steve jobs who invented worlds best phone, but after that, it becomes worlds worst.... i'll shift now on android

Same situation. Waiting for this update, because camera in my wife's iphone 7 dead and than arised after update, and one more time dead forewer after 10.2.... we hope that Apple will fix the problem, but.... seems they do not want to see this problem.

Thanks for the suggestion. Everyone else is saying this is a faulty sensor, but I can't see how this can be a faulty sensor since it works fine with all other apps. I used to hard reset to solve the problem, but tried your suggestion of switching to video mode and back and it works a treat, thank you (sorry it doesn't work for you, but appreciate the advice).

Nope, no help. I can see the interface. It doesn't work. I tried to take a picture to see if it might stop the lens from trying to focus. The camera app won't function. None of the buttons work. Again, the camera works with other apps.

I have the same issue the only way to make the camera work again is by doing a hard reset. When this problem happened I tried using snap chat and the camera worked fine both front and back. when switched to send a text message photo the camera would not work then either. I hope this gets resolved with iOS 10.1
