iBooks Library is empty

Hey!

I've installed the new OS X Sierra from scratch after backing up all my data of course.

All my books and pdf are stored on the cloud so Im fine(I thought I was)..

When entering iBooks I am asked if I want to use iCloud storage and I hit Yes.

But all my books and PDFs are gone..

Nothing I do they won't return..The library is empty :-(

And I've just got a new iPhone 7 and tried to get on my iBooks on IOS, but all books are there, stored in the cloud and the option to download them is present..and works just fine.

The problem with this is that if my iBooks library is empty, I cannot sync my new books on iTunes since it will delete all the books which are already on my idevice..

Any idea how to fix it?

I've read many different types of solution for this, but nothing seem to work and the problems are a little different then mine..

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hey Wat3v4,

It sounds like you've already done your homework. The quickest solution that I can think of would be to go to your backup and grab the folder that contains all your books and just copy it over onto the new Sierra OS. The names will be a series of numbers and letters, so it may look confusing. The filepath is:

/Users/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks

You're right in that if your phone can see them then your computer should as well. One thing to note is that iBooks has its own separate login from iTunes. Make sure that you're logged into your account? Also, you could maybe try using your phone to download one of the books from iCloud onto your phone and see if it syncs over to your computer. That may be another opportunity.
