Q: Airplay is unable to connect, why?
Lately I have been unable to connect to my Yamaha Receiver through the Airplay link. The message "Can't connect to..." is appearing after I choose the device in Airplay list and hit the Play button (Mac and iPhone).
I think the problem is Yamaha related, Yamaha recently updated their firmware (Airplay stability fixes). I have tried with reset of all including devices in the chain without luck (Mac/iPhone -> AirPort Time Capsule -> Yamaha Receiver).
The thing is, I have used the same setup for like 4 years without problem, why now? Yamaha Support is giving me the cold hand, and tells me that if I use the latest firmware and have done a reset, it is not related to their product. They blame the network setup and the Airplay sources.
