Can Apple Watch play music through its built in speaker?

Apple Watch's inability to play music through its own speaker annoyed me so much that I attached a miniature Bluetooth speaker to my watchband (see attached photo).

What I used is an iFrogz Tadpole — I picked a light green one, to match the Nike Volt band and the color scheme I use for the Modular Watch face.

No, sadly it's not possible to play music via the built in speaker - that is just used for notification alerts etc. If you don't like full headphones, its pricey but the AirPods really are great!

It was never possible to play music through the Apple Watch small transducer and if you could there would be no bass response at all. No update removed this.

And what app did you do this with? When? And "jungle" sounded good with almost no bass?

I was also able to play synced music through the Apple Watch speakers the 1st day. After I paired headphones and then unpaired them I was no longer able.

I was able to play music at first then I took the music off and today I was trying to do it again and nothing.

I was able to to play music from my Watch speakers as well but now I can't for some reason. Has anyone been able to come to the conclusion of this?

This happened to me as well. While I was sitting in the store setting it up got music to play. I can only surmise that once the watch is fully paired with your phone it no longer works.
