Q: Project files on a RAID - "Leave Files In Place" not an option

When I have files on my RAID and I want to import them into a FCP X project, the option to "Leave Files In Place" is grayed out and not available.  Why is this?  Isn't storing these files on a RAID the best possible solution?
This works fine if the files are on external USB hard drives ... but I would think a RAID is a better/faster solution.

LLeave in place is not an option if the drive is being read as a camera or the folder structure appears to as a camera structure. The type of drive is not relevant.

Tom,  The strange thing is that I just created a folder on the RAID called "DCIM" and put a video file in there.... now the option to Leave in Place is available (also works with subfolders within DCIM on the RAID) .  This is totally counter to what you might expect and to what you said ... but for some reason it works.

Very strange behavior.  Any video files I put on a USB external drive, regardless of folder location or name, allow for the Leave in Place option.   This behavior is specific to my RAID.

Anyways the "DCIM" folder seems to be an acceptable workaround.

I assume both drives are Mac formatted.
