Sep 26, 2016 7:02 AM in response to reggiefromtuscaloosaby norm123,Hi reggiefromtuscaloosa,
I understand that while you are watching videos, after a few minutes the screen will go dim and then turn off. I like to watch videos on my iPhone as well, so I can understand the concern. I will be happy to help you with this.
What you are describing is the auto-lock feature. You can adjust this setting to be able to watch your videos without interruption.
Use Auto-Lock and Raise to Wake
After a period of inactivity, the Auto-Lock setting locks your screen with your passcode to help protect your personal information. Here's how to turn it on or off:- Go to Settings > General > Auto-Lock.
- Choose an amount of inactivity* (from 30 Seconds up to 5 Minutes) that will turn off and lock your screen. Or to turn off Auto-Lock, select Never.
Raise to Wake turns on your screen as soon as you pick up your device. To turn this feature on or off, go to Settings > General > Display & Brightness. Raise to Wake works with iPhone 6s and later.
* When used for business or education purposes, some iOS devices might have passcode restrictions that prevent you from adjusting the Auto-Lock settings.
Adjust the display settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Oct 17, 2016 2:06 AM in response to reggiefromtuscaloosaby ClemFandango,This is also happening to me and it never used to. I watch a LOT of Youtube content through the official app and it's never happened before until recently.
Surely you shouldn't have to manually go in and change auto-lock to "never" each time ?
