Uninstall/reinstall sticker pack in iOS 10

I have been having some unusual issues with the new stickers in Messages. I had a few different packs installed and have found that two of the packs don't appear in the "Manage" area of the Message Store. However, the store shows them as installed. I've disabled every pack I've installed, which seems to have made those able to be reinstalled, except for those two which are seemingly invisible.

I haven't been able to find any other method to disable/delete these sticker packs from my device. They are Super Mario Run Stickers and Stickmappers.

I have a second phone for work and no problems with any of the new Messages features there. Wondering if there is a way to somehow reset the Messages Store to default or another way to delete/manage installed packs.

Thanks!

I realize this is an old thread and you may have already solved your problem. But maybe there's someone here who hasn't. I have/had the Ellen Forney "Shticker" pack and apparently deleted it by holding the icon down too long, as someone mentioned in an earlier reply.

If your problem is the same as mine, here's what worked for me:

- connect your iphone to your computer and open iTunes

- click the iphone icon in the top left area so you then have the sync view.

- now, in the left column, select the "Apps" tab.

- now on the right side you'll see a list of every app you've ever had installed on your phone.

- scroll down to the sticker app in question. You should find that it says "remove" next to it. For our purposes, this means iTunes thinks it's still installed on your phone and is giving you an option to remove it.

- select remove, then on the bottom right of your iTunes window, select "Apply". A new sync will begin.

- when the sync is done, go to your phone (still connected to iTunes on your computer), open messages and navigate to the stickers apps. Select the "+" symbol.

- in the new window, select the search tool and search for your "missing" sticker app. When you find it, it should give you an option to download it from the cloud. Do so.

This solved my problem. Good luck!

Greetings DGL,

Thanks for your post here on the Apple Support Communities. I see that two of the sticker packs you have installed are not showing up to use, and are not showing in the manage page in the iMessage App Store for you to manage. I know how much I enjoy the use of the sticker packs. I will be more than happy to help.

If the sticker packs came bundled with another app, they can be uninstalled by going to Settings > General > Manage Storage, under the first storage section. Find the app and tap on delete. If they are iMessage only apps they can only be managed by the Manage tap in the iMessage app store.

If they were iMessage only apps, have you tried to restart your iPhone to see if they show up or are able to be removed in the manage tab?

Let us know.

Take care!

Thanks for the your reply. The issue is that these standalone sticker apps (along with a few others actually) are not showing up in the Manage area inside the iMessage store. When I view the page for the affected packs in the store, they show as "installed" even though they do not appear as such in the Manage area and are not available for use in Messages either.

I had power-cycled the device twice with no effect. I ended up backing up the phone to my Mac and doing a device restore. That seems to have corrected whatever the issue was, but what a pain to have to set up other myriad things. Lesson learned with these sticker packs!

I have found a better way to fix the problem as I experienced the exact same thing. I had installed the Mario sticker pack and also had a number of iMessage apps automatically installed through their normal iOS apps too. Mario had stopped showing up to be selectable and when I went into the manage section it was not there. I looked at purchased and it showed as installed, but clearly I did not have access.

The fix.

As I use iTunes to backup and synchronize my iPhone as well as iCloud, I plugged my iPhone in and did a sync. After that I searched for Mario in my apps and it was not downloaded to my Mac, so I downloaded it. Then I searched for it in the apps installed on my iPhone and it showed as installed. Next I removed it from my iPhone and did another sync. When I checked again, it showed as not installed. I then went to the iPhone and looked at purchased and it showed the symbol to download it again which I did. Now it shows correctly again.
