Q: Back up shared drive

Hiya

I have a MacBook, Airport Extreme and 2 external hard drives. 1 Hard drive has data on it, the other is a back up drive.

I would ideally like to have time machine wirelessly back up the MacBook AND the data drive to the back up drive, but it looks like if I have the data drive connected to the Airport Extreme and shared, TM can't back it up.

Is there a way I can have the data drive shared and available via wifi to other devices, and include it in my TM back up?

Alternatively are there other back up/set up options that can achieve what I'm after?

Thank you!

Sorry, but no....if you are asking about Time Machine backups. Use a 3rd party application like Carbon Copy Cloner or Chronosync to take care of backups of your shared drive.

IF....you could connect the drive directly to your Mac using USB or FireWire that you want to back up.....then, Time Machine can be set up to back up both your Mac and the attached hard drive.
