Q: Error 13, AMD-Action:downloadProduct:SP, cannot sign in
I am trying to upgrade to Sierra, but when the download button is clicked, an error message "AMD-Action:downloadProduct:SP" appears. From there on, there are "retry" and "cancel" options the former of which always fails and the latter brings up the common "error 13" message.
Attempting to sign in causes "This action could not be completed. Try again."
Already tried:
- Restart the app
- Restart the computer
- Delete ~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.cookies
- Delete ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/ and its contents
- Delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
- Delete ~/Library/Application Support/App Store/ and its contents
- Check permissions for all the files above and their containing folders
- Check permissions of entire file system with Disk Utility
- Looked around /Library for any relevant App Store file
- Did not delete /Library/Application Support/App Store/ and its contents
- Try to use the app as administrator and normal user accounts
- Search the web, including the support pages and Support Communities
on error 13: info irrelevant or outdated
on "AMD-Action:downloadProduct:SP": maybe undocumented
- (possibly related) After spotting in the Console an error automatically creating /Users/Shared, recreate /Users/Shared with sudo so that permissions are correct. The folder was manually deleted out of ignorance some months ago prior to this issue.
Have not tried:
- Reinstall OS
Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), App Store version 2.1 (463.9)
