Q: Device dropped off Airport net connection

Good morning,

My iPad gen. 3 was connected to the net one evening and the next morning was not.  Checking my AirPort Extreme shows current update and connection to the net on all other devices (10).  The wi-fi address is listed and shows "excellent" connection but the dreaded orange dot to the internet.  I have rebooted both the AirPort and the iPad as well as resetting the network on the iPad.

The iPad connects to the net through the personal hotspot on my phone.

Thanks for any help

The "orange" dot would indicate that there is a problem with the connection to the Internet from the router or modem.

I would suggest that you try performing a complete power recycle of your networking hardware to try to resolve this. Check out the following AirPort User tip for the details on how to do so. Note: You can skip the part of performing a "factory default" reset on the base station at this point. Please post back your results.

I Did the power reset and had no luck.  However I did a factory reset and got the connection back.  Funny thing was the AirPort didn't forget the network details.

    Thanks again.
