Updated to iOS and cannot import pictures to PC (windows 7)

I recently updated my phone to iOS 10 and can no longer import my pictures to my PC which runs on Windows 7. This was not an issue as of the week prior to iOS 10 upgrade when I uploaded all pictures to clear space on my phone iPhone 6.

Did you check for Windows 7 updates?

Can you see your device if you try this?

Windows 7: Choose Start > Computer. Under Portable Devices, right-click the device and choose Import Photos.
