Users & Groups (System Preferences)

How do you remove another user (not the "Guest User") in Users & Groups quickly?

It took almost over 3 days and counting (saving) that I had to force quit System Prefences as that was the only way I could shut it down. I have clicked on Users and Groups and the other user is still there.
