The reason its called a "Smart Battery Case" is because the case is able to detect when there is a phone connected to it and when that phone is drained. Once you put the case on, it just starts charging your depleted iPhone. If both devices are at 100 percent, and you’ve got the case on, the phone will use the case’s battery first, then switch to draining its own cell. If you turn off the phone while its in the case, the case will not charge as it thinks that the phone is drained.
Reccomendations:
- Charge iPhone and case separately.
- Turn on Low Power Mode on iPhone at night.
- Turn on Do Not Disturb & Low Power Mode on iPhone at night.
