Search the Mavericks forum for "Google Drive" and you will find lots of reports where the solution was to disable Google Drive.

I know there are some problems with GD and Mavericks, however I need GD.
Do you mean "temporaly disable" or "definitely uninstall"?

Or switch to a different operating system version (El Capitan or Sierra)
Or hope Google provides a fix (which they have not done yet).
