Using Dropbox and iCloud together

Is there a best way to operate both iCloud and DropBox on the same media? For example, should the Dropbox folder be inside the iCloud Drive or should the iCloud repository be within the DropBox folder? Any other tricks important? Thanks...

Perhaps he is looking to have the convenience of bother services - iCloud for the Apple ecosystem and Dropbox for universal compatibility? I agree one inside the other probably not the way to go. Maybe have the two services run separately and then keep them in sync with some syncing program?

We'll probably never know as it's been almost a year since they posted and the original post and the poster never replied back to anyone. If you have a question, I'd suggest starting your own thread rather than appending one that's been dormant for so long. You'll get more and better help.

Best of luck.

To what end? I am as much a fan of redundancy as the next guy, but that idea is simply overkill and ripe for issues. The only upside to cloud over USB drive is for site disaster. Fire, flood, what have you.

IMO, a smarter more effective thing is one cloud service, take your pick, your system HD and an external USB drive. Sync the 2 HD's and you have a quick solution for a HD failure, plus an off site backup for a home office fire/flood etc.

Combining 2 cloud services is just not smart, IMO. The cloud service has multiple redundancies built in, so we don't have to.

As zinacef offers, I can't imagine either Apple or Dropbox thought of this use case when designing their products.

Can you explain why you want to do this, as that may help get an answer to your question.

If you are looking for extra redundancy, I would suggest this is not the way to do that. Both iCloud and Dropbox would have strong redundancy on their end.

You doubling up likely achieves nothing of value.
