Q: How to stop the Try the new Safari nag

How do I get rid of this Safari nag “Try the new Safari”?

I use the Chrome browser and don't like to be told what I can and can't do on my own computer, one of the main reasons I don't use Windows. Now I have a persistent nag from Apple in the upper right corner of my screen giving me a choice of tying the new Safari either now or later, but not a choice to do neither.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12)

Try going to the App Store Updates tab. If the Safari update has a More box at the lower right click it. If it doesn't, that isn't a problem. Do a control - click on the update and you should get a hide option.

If that doesn't work, scroll to the top left hand corner and see if an X appears. If so, click that.
