    Hi bluespiderfl,

Thanks for posting your question in the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you are trying to use the Memories feature in the Photos on the Mac and on the iPhone, but it will not complete. I know it will be nice to have this feature working on both devices for you. Let's see what we can do.

To being, please force close the Photos app on the Mac and also the Photos app on the iPhone. Then do a restart of both devices.

Force an app to close on your Mac

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

How to turn on or turn off your Mac

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

The following article goes over steps that you want to make sure you have taken:

    Enjoy your Memories in Photos

    Specifically,

    Before you begin

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to iOS 10 or later and your Mac to macOS Sierra or later.
If you want to get the same Memories on all of your Apple devices:
Set up iCloud on all of your devices.
Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on all of your devices.
Turn on iCloud Photo Library on all of your devices that you want to use with Memories.
Update your Apple TV (4th generation) to tvOS 10 or later.

Once you have completed those steps and check the above listed settings, please try to access the Memories again.

    Have a great night!
