Thanks for reaching out via the Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, I am understanding that you recently updated iTunes, and it now will not recognize your iPhone 4s when it is connected to your Mac. I manage my own iPhone with iTunes all the time, so I know it's important that they can communicate! I'd be happy to help.
