If you've done that already, here is what I suggest: go to the Applications folder, and click on MacKeeper to select it (just a single click). Then, in the menu bar, go to File > Delete Immediately. This should get rid of it without the uninstall prompt. Then you can remove the files left over manually. The files to look for are listed in the linked article above.

Sep 25, 2016 2:29 PM in response to orodsixby stevejobsfan0123,If that doesn't work, go to Activity Monitor (located in /Applications/Utilities), and type "mackeeper" in the search. See if any processes come up, and if so, force quit them.
