iOS10 unable to block a message

HI all I'm unable to currently block text messages like in previous iOS versions. Usually I just go into the actual message press the contact and have th option to block any further messages from the sender. I then can check my blocked list and it is there. Now with iOS10 I can't do that if i receive a message not from a number but from say a random store. If it's a number yes it can be done but If it already comes up with a name on my message list it allows me to block it but it doesn't show up in my blocked list. i tried saving it as a contact also no luck. Can someone please help me? i need to start blocking texts messages! Thanks

I've got the exact same problem. It's limited to masked messages i.e. messages where the sender obscures the phone number with text. For example, instead of receiving a message from 123456, now it says PIZZAHUT and even since iOS 10, it has been impossible to block masked messages. I contacted Apple Support and they weren't any help at all.

I just switched from an android phone to an iphone. ios 10. It does not block messages. This is a huge drawback for me as I get umpteen unwanted messages from stores which mask their number. And apparently Apple is not helping at all.😕
