Why is the "Made in your country" category removed from the App Store?

I was getting most of my traffic from being featured on the "Made in your country" category, but now Apple seems to have removed it? Why? It was a nice thing to see apps from your country and helped a lot of developers get their apps featured.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

I was just scolding someone for unfairly report a post as in violation of the Apple Support Communities Use Agreement. Unfortunately, you used the "why" word so your post is definitely in violation of that agreement.

I never knew such a category existed. I guess it is gone now. Bummer. I think it is a good idea too. I can tell you that you can send feedback to Apple via the Feedback page (http://www.apple.com/feedback/) or the Bug Reporter (http://bugreport.apple.com) and ask them to restore this feature.

Otherwise, I should caution you about using the Apple App Stores for marketing. This particular feature may have helped you, but you can't rely on Apple to do the marketing for you. They might even say that specifically in some of the developer documents. You might want to consider the new Ad Search feature: http://searchads.apple.com/. Otherwise, you'll have to do it the old-fashioned way with Twitter, social media influencers, and the good-ole Facebook ad.
