ios 10

how come the ios 10 doesn't offer an emergency contact button on the home screen??? I feel like that is so important yet the newest update got rid of that. If i knew that I never would have updated, ive had to use that numerous times and it has been so helpful and quick. if theres an emergency you dont want have to go thru your phone to contact an emergency service.

Hi Rlosee!

I see that you're concerned about not having the emergency contact option on the Home screen. I can certainly understand why you're concerned, and I'm happy to help. You can still reach the emergency contact option, it's just changed a little bit:

Make an emergency call when iPhone is locked. On the Enter Passcode screen, tap Emergency Call (to dial 911 in the U.S., for example).

You can read more about this in the iPhone manual here:

AFter playing around with this a bit more, I finally realized I could get to the 'Enter Passcode' screen by touching the home button with one of my fingers not used to unlock the phone. The Enter Passcode screen will also appear when I press the Home button with my fingernail (my fingerprint always seems to work at unlocking my phone, hence this was why I could not get to the 'Enter Passcode' screen).
