iTunes 12.5.1.21 dont let me backup!

First I had trouble having the new iTunes 12.5.1.21 recognize my iPone6. Took care of that problem. Now i have trouble backing up my iPhone6. All i see is a yellow bar at the bottom where the files are, a backup button and thats it. I click on backup and nothing happens. I try to delete anything Apple, but my computer dont let me cause another file is using iTunes. So I cant reinstall iTunes because I cant delete this one. I have iOS 9.3.5 and dont want to upgrade just yet, for fear that i might lose all my content in it!

I cant reinstall iTunes....

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with third party software.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
