Popping (not hissing) on EarPods with lightning adapter

I am currently having the same issue with an iPhone 8. Happens with the earpods and using the 3.5mm adapter.

Hello it's definitely hardware. And all iphone 7 and plus suffer from this. Tried it in all apple stores here in Bucharest and could notice this popping noise. Apple service wasn't very helpful because they denied hearing the noise. it's actually really noticeable in a quiet environment.

Just got my iPhone 7 yesterday and I have the same issue. This issue is not actually limited to headphones but if you hear it closely through iPhone speakers Ina quiet environment , you can hear the same subtle pop sound when the audio starts or ends. It's difficult to hear when the audio starts but relatively prominent when audio stops. I think this can be fixed through software update. Just want to shout out to Apple to look into this issue. It's been sometime this post was started. If anyone have found a solution, please share. For some people it's annoying while others won't even notice.

I am having this same issue. It's only happening with the adapter. And only on a certain pair of headphones. and it will intermittently stop. Also restarting the phone fixes the issue. Which leads to to believe this is a software issue. The lightning EarPods also work fine. as does Bluetooth. Just using adapter with a certain pair of headphones causing the popping and skipping in music sounds. Very annoying.

When the lightning headphones are hooked up and i focus on any input to bring up or hide the keyboard i hear an electrical pop sound

No it's hardware , tried with the included 3.5mm adapter. It's definitely related to the cpu power management when its switching between states.

Gee so no ios update can fix this one huh?
