i recently purchased sony wireless sans fil MDR-ZX330BT bluetooth headphones to pair with my apply tv but when i go to add a bluetooth device the headphones don't show up even if they are next to the apple tv and in pairing mode. Does anyone know who they might not appear and if these headphones are even

I would try to pair your Sony to another device perhaps another iphone or ipad if you happen to have around. It may sound that the issue is related to the Sony rather than ATV as the bluetooth feature works fine generally speaking with sony devices. Also, ensure your apple TV has the latest updates: go to Settings > System > Software Updates.

Ok.
See if you can reboot your iphone and ensure it is clearly not paired.
Then see if your ATV is up to date and then turn off bluetooth from ATV and then turn it back on.
You should see a list with searched devices around the ATV....maybe moving closer to the ATV would help seeing it.
i had them paired to my iPhone and they worked fine, then i tried to pair them with my apple tv and they wouldn't show up so i pressed " forget device" on my iPhone so that the headphones didn't have any paired devices and now the headphones don't show up on either. the bluetooth on my iPhone was off while i was trying to pair with my apple tv
