You need to make an appointment at your local Apple Store for them to check it out. It sounds that something internal broke when it was thrown.
Of course that voids the warranty. So if your luck Apple might sell you an out of warranty replacement for it.

Who charge thousands and don't guarantee success. It's so much simpler to have set up automatic daily backups.
