Q: How to mail notes

Hi,

I've got an iPod 5th Generation and recently I have been unable to charge the device due to water damage. Most of my files are either backed up or unnecessary to back up however I would like to retain my notes. I clicked the 'share' button in notes and selected 'mail'. I typed in my email address thinking the notes would be sent there (hotmail). I checked on my computer and I have not received any such emails in my inbox so I'm wondering where did they go? The Mail option is meant to be for emails etc aren't they?

Is there any other quick way I could email notes or any other ideas as to why I didn't receive the emails when it gave no indication at the time that the notes didn't send.

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 9.1

Are they in your sent mail? Sometimes the mail app queues mails and don't send them

another thing to try, can you make a screen cap? Hold down the sleep and home key together, but quickly, like you'd press the shutter of a camera. You should see a white flash and then the screen cap goes into your photos app. Then you can try to mail from there.

Another thing to try, turn on the notes in iCloud and see if they are uploaded to the cloud, you can then access it via the iCloud panel (on a mac I think, or I know on a PC if you download iCloud Control Panel for windows you can access the cloud and get the notes that way

I could make screen captures but I don't think I have enough battery for that. Also, the main note I use is quite long so I would have to take a lot of screenshots to get it all. I use a Windows computer and have not set up an iCloud account, and unsure about how long that would take given that the battery is far below 20% left. I did actually check the sent emails, but I'm not actually sure what address I would receive the emails from anyway since when I sent the emails there wasn't a log in it just came up directly with:

    To:

    Subject:

    *Notes*

So I was assuming by typing my email into the 'To' and sending it would work. And again, it gave no indication that it hadn't sent. Not sure if this matters, but my apple ID is the same as my email address so maybe it would be sent from the same email address? Except it hasn't come through obviously.

Things should come and go from the main account you set up.

another thing you can do is copy the note and then open your mail and past it into the body of the mail.

pretty much the same thing you're trying to do, but you're manually moving the data instead of wanting the notes and mail app to talk to each other

Another thing - since you're getting to the 'do or die' stage, do you have a wireless printer or air print printer? You can mail from the notes app and maybe you can print out the valuable ones. Even if you have to retype it at least you have it.

Does wifi/internet work on the iPod?

If not working the mail can't be sent. Maybe the water also damaged the wifif part of the iPOd

I'm getting notifications from other apps so my wifi must be working. Thanks for the input though from both of you. I've never connected my iPod to a printer though so I'm not sure how to do that nor how long it takes.
