Q: Recovery Request!!!

In windows 7 which was on my BOOTCAMP, I used disk management to shrink Drive "C:\" and then creating one more partition. It caused the startup failure of both MAC OS and WINDOWS!

unfortunately even when I used Internet recovery and then Disk utility, I couldn't access to my partitiona and backup.

Disk Utility indicates partitions Unmounted and "windows_DLM" format type!!!

I'm Certain that when I used to shrink my BootCamp partition, I did nothing with MAC Partition.

Is there any scenario to recover data on my partitions?

and if the answer is yes, what are the scenarios?

please tell me How can I do to not loosing my data?

I read some articles about TestDisk program which is a recovery software but now I have no OS to Start from!!!

and an article describing using "dd" command in Terminal to create image, But actually I don't realize what can I do and what's the solution for such a problem occured!

Please boot into Safe Mode and then boot into Internet Recovery and try the repairDisk again.

Do you have a backup of Windows? We need to erase the internal disk and restore from the TM backup. Can you check files in the TM backup to make sure all your files are there.

In the worst-case scenario, you may need to re-install Windows. Is that all right?

Since you have an external boot disk, it would be the fastest method, rather than Internet Recovery. Once booted from your external disk, run

    diskutil eraseDisk disk0

Please ensure disk0 is your internal disk, before you execute the eraseDisk. Once erased, restore your TM backup to the internal disk. Test OS X from the internal disk and check all your files. Re-install Windows once you have OS X fully verified.

    Dear Loner T,

Thanks a lot for your perfect and exact help. You saved me actually.

OS X became stable and before installing windows 7 I have some questions about it. Do I ask you these questions here or in a new post?

    Thank you very much

    I have these questions:

1- If it is possible to install more than one windows 7 on Apple computers and when system startup (Option/Alt key pressed) select one of them to startup from?

2- If we can add more than default "C:\" partition on installed windows without occurring any problem?

    Thank you

Two methods. Use a VM and a Bootcamp installation, or, after the first copy of Windows is installed, install a different version Windows to allow Windows dual-boot.

2- If we can add more than default "C:\" partition on installed windows without occurring any problem?

Using the same drive letter will confuse software and boot. Use C: and D:. You can only have one default drive.

In Bootcamp Installation methode, only one Bootcamp partition could be made? or we can make 2 Bootcamp partition?

Sorry for bad description, I mean for example if it is possible to have 5 drive (C,E,F,...) on the windows 7 which installed on Bootcamp partition?

You cannot further partition a Windows installation on a Mac, because quite a few models use a Hybrid MBR to overlay a GPT.

You have already noticed how Windows Disk Management corrupted the GPT. However, you can created D/E/F... on an external disk where each drive letter is a partition.
