MacBook Airs run neither Classic operating systems, which this forum is about, or iOS, which your signature also says you have. Classic refers to an emulated operating system available on 1998-2005 Macs, and boot system on 1998-2003 Macs. iOS refers to operating systems on iPads, iPod Touch, and iPhone. Keychains are controlled through the Keychain Access Control Panel on Classic operating system and the Keychain utility on Mac OS X 10.0-10.11.6 and Mac OS 10.12 Sierra's Applications -> Utilities folder. Reset the password directions vary by operating systems, usually through Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Users and Groups or Security.

Go to Apple menu-> About This Mac to tell us what you are running, and someone can redirect you to the right forum.

I have also noticed that many folks mistake the proper forum due to the similarity of " OS9 & *i*OS 9 " in the trail of breadcrumbs.

There must be some ambiguity in the "create new Apple ID for ASC" when presented with the "Product Info" section

I think when picking a place to post, the "list" presented has something to be desired

Law of Unintended Consequences?

Can it be fixed in some way? Maybe, but it seems that it may end up low on the AJT priority punch list.

Perhaps suggestions would be welcome, but methinks the approach may be "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" - dealing with the few problems individually - as YOU have here (wastes a lot of time, huh?)
