Q: Missing lots of mails
Hi all,
I have an iPhone 7 and IOS 10.01. On my iPhone I have configured one Gmail acount and an iCloud mail acount.
Two days ago I realized that a lot of mails are missing in one of my Gmail folders. So I called the Gmail web ui and found out that the mails are still there. The iPhone just doesn't show them. When I use the iPhone search I can find and open the missing mails. But they are not shown when I open their folder in mail. After trying to clear the mail cache by deleting/restarting/readding the acount it still did not work.
Then I startet Microsoft Outlook on my Macbook (Windows 10) and checked that folder. Outlook shows everything corectly. With Outlook I copied the whole Gmail folders into my iCloud account. After Outlook finished it I checkt my iCloud folders with the iPhone. The mails are still not shown even in the iCloud folders.
I opened the Mail app in Mac OS Sierra and I can see all my mails from Google and from my iCloud acount.
I even added both mail acounts on a second iPhone (IOS 9.3.4) and even there I can't see the mails as long as I do not use the search function. When I search for the missing mails on the iPhones I can see them and open them without any problem.
Could it have to do something with the meta data in my mails or why is the iPhone not able to show me the whole folder? Any ideas how I can repair my mails?
The mails I can't see are newer ones. Between 2008 and 2012 I see everything but especially from this year most of then are not shown.
Any ideas? It's quite strange.
