Q: Setting up Apple Tv

Supposed to set up my new Apple tv, but when I tried do it manually it comes up that time and date could not be set, and tried over and over again, but it didn't work. Then I tried do it with my iPhone, could not connect with bluetooth, just made it once and then it wouldn't connect with my Apple Id, like I wrote the wrong password, it just came up that is was unsuccessful. What do i do? Do I have to set ut a two step verification? I have just changed my Apple Id password, so have to wait 48 hours to set up an two step verification...

Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV

    1. You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    2. Also try restarting the router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    3. If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
    4. If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.

If this is a new Apple TV, in addition to trying the above, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

You might also try connecting to a different network and then trying again on your own, you might try at a friends or use the wifi hotspot on your mobile phone if you have one.

Hi.  I had this problem too when I tried to set up my new Apple TV.  Went round in circles with Apple, the store I purchased it from and my internet provider (BT) and got nowhere.  Took it to a friends house, set it up there and it worked no problem.  Took it back home, tried it again and it worked no problem.  Perhaps see if that works for you?

If they have a device they can set up a hotspot up on they won't need to take it anywhere (see my last paragraph)
