Sep 26, 2016 6:45 AM in response to Kryspenby BDAqua,Very likely some incompatible 3rd part item.
Safe boot, holding shift key does that work?
-
Sep 27, 2016 7:08 AM in response to Kryspenby Kryspen,Thanks for your response. Safe boot got my Mac actually running again, but it panics and reboots after a few minutes. I suspect that I may have a hardware problem. Any ideas on that?
I doubt it's due to any incompatible parts because before the Sierra upgrade it was running happily and the only change I made was to the software.
Thanks again,
David Smith

Sep 27, 2016 7:18 AM in response to Kryspenby rkaufmann87,Please post an EtreCheck report of your system. We can then look for obvious issues. Please click the link, download the app and run the report. Once you have the report, please copy and paste it to your reply to this post.
If you would like more info on what EtreCheck is, simply click the link and you will find a description of the app.
You haven't provided us any information other than a symptom which can have multiple causes.
If you happen to have any antivirus or cleaning apps installed then that is likely the problem, however I suspect BDAqua is spot on it's some third party app that is outdated, corrupt or has some other issue with Sierra and is causing the issue.

Sep 30, 2016 4:44 PM in response to Kryspenby rkaufmann87,You are using an unreleased version of Mac OS, we cannot help you on these forums. Please reread the terms you agreed to and post to the appropriate location.

Sep 30, 2016 5:12 PM in response to Kryspenby John Galt,That Mac is a Petri dish of ill-conceived "anti-virus", "cleaning" garbage, and adware. It is unreasonable to expect proper operation.
Since you are running unreleased software, I assume you consider that installation sacrificial, and are prepared to erase it completely and restore a working system from a backup.
How would you like to proceed?
