Q: Why did auto unlock Mac with Apple Watch stop working?

When I first upgraded to watchOS 3 and macOS Sierra, auto unlock Mac with Apple Watch worked. A few days alter it stopped working. What could have happened? I checked all Settings/System Preferences.

Apple Watch, watchOS 3, macOS Sierra

This new "feature" is absolutely finicky with my iMac. I am almost ready to give up on it. This morning, I restarted both the iMac and Apple Watch and it worked a few times. This evening back to the same "beta" status. Yes sir...it just works...right!!!

I'm not sure why this is marked as Answered?  I am having the same issue.  I never had a beta version - I enabled the feature to unlock my Mac with my watch and it worked fine for about a week.  Now, it gives me the "Unlocking with apple watch . . ." but after about 20 seconds it just gives me the password prompt.  I've rebooted the Mac, restarted my watch - and, Yes, the watch is unlocked.  Any ideas?  Thanks.
