Same issue here, launching Samsung Portable SSD.app just give me the "loading..." spinner for 2 seconds, then nothing happens. No update available from Samsung yet, but I sent them a support inquiry.

So I am having all the issues described, but the solutions described have not worked for me.

Had a Samsung SSD T1 500Gb using the encryption software on it

    Installed Mac OS Sierra

    No longer working as usual

Previously encryption software wound boot up - you login in, then you use the drive as normal

Now drive is 'recognised', but it looks like a 'completely new' drive

Tried installing the new T3 software from both a brand new Samsung T3 SSD 500Gb drive as well as the Samsung website.

This appears to have worked for other people in forum, but for me the new T3 Software Crashes unexpectedlyScreen Shot 2016-10-06 at 13.32.16.png

    Anyone else in my situation???

I am running a Mac Book Air

Grateful if anyone works this out
