Server 5.2 postfix no longer logging to /var/log/mail.log

Server 5.2 postfix no longer logging to /var/log/mail.log

I'd like to know if anyone else is seeing this issue?

After updating to macOS Sierra and Server 5.2, I don't get any messages from postfix in /var/log/mail.log (a.k.a. SMTP Log). I have never had a problem seeing messages from postfix here before. I have the postfix mail log setting set to 'info'.

I do see greylisting messages from the policy process logging /var/log/mail.log. So, the file appears to be working in general. But, no postfix stuff.

Anyone else have this problem?

Same here, tried changing into debug to no avail. Tried to change it with Terminal by using the serveradmin settings mail or by (i know you should not do it) editing the main.cf, changed also the com.apple.mail in the /etc/asl directoy from notice into info or debug 😠 nada!!

so if someone finds the solution?? please share

Apple seems aware of this problem, i filed a bug report:

Engineering has determined that your bug report (28454343) is a duplicate of another issue (28239390) and will be closed.

Even after v10.12.2 update, it still looks like Apple is comfortable with SMTP servers getting hacked with impunity. 😟
