Q: How to stop iTunes restoring deleted music from iPhone
Hi guys,
So I've tried to speak to Apple help via the online chat about this and got nowhere, I'm hoping you guys might be able to help me.
I have my music library stored on my PC and in my iTunes library. I synced this with my iPhone and then use my iPhone to listen to the music. As I'm listening to my music I'm deleting certain tracks that I no longer wish to have. When I sync my phone with my iTunes music library, it restores all of the deleted tracks. I understand this is because those tracks are still sitting in my iTunes library, but how do I get the library and the phone to speak to each other without iTunes just shoving songs back onto my iPhone?
I thought I'd solved it at one point but then every time I plugged my iPhone in, iTunes would remove everything and re-add it again. I've finally stopped it doing that, but now it is restoring stuff I've deleted! And since the iOS 10 update I can't figure out how to remove rating stars to give myself some sort of idea which tracks to delete from the PC library (although I suspect iTunes would just overwrite that anyway...)
To answer the first question that I expect to be asked - when I click on my iPhone in iTunes, under the Summary Tab, I have NONE of the options selected.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
iPhone 6, iOS 10.0.2
