After updating to iOS 10 my phone hangs up on contact, calendar and email usage, often crashing them and reloading the affected app.

It seems when I update my contacts, or calendar, or email or just about "anything" requiring text entry stalls out. It's like very keystroke was being checked and matched/duplicated somewhere else. I'd prefer it to allow me to locally do whatever it is I'm doing and then do whatever it is doing that brings my device to a standstill.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), 2010 model, 16GB RAM 4TB HDD.

Ok, I don't know why the Apple Communities thing is saying this solved my problem ... it did not.

I've already reset the phone. Same issue. It started after iOS 10

I believe Apple is trying to spell check or second guess what you're typing "while you're typing it" which EXTREMELY delays the device in just about anything you're doing. Even in updating contacts, I have a considerable slow-down, like it is waiting for a response from a server somewhere before continuing.

I AM USING MY PHONE REALTIME ... it shouldn't be accessing any server until I'm done typing!!!
