The Local Keychain can't be locked unless the Login Keychain is locked. Similarly, you can't unlock the Local Keychain unless the Login Keychain is unlocked.

This doesn't matter too much though since someone would need to type in your account password in order to show a password anyway. The only thing it would prevent is accidentally deleting a keychain. If someone has your account password, they could get into the Keychain even if it is locked.

Thanks for your response, even with locked Login i can't lock the Local Items.

I was just wondering, before the upgrade i used to be able to do that.

Is this because of the Sierra's structure?

Not sure. I will be installing Sierra probably later tonight on my personal computer. I can try it and let you know.

Do you have another user you can test this on just to make sure it isn't tied strictly to your account?
